Video Production and Mass Media Marketing

I’ll give you a short summary of life on my planet. For as long as I can remember when I look back I have had a rather out going personality and a natural stage ability. This lead me to believe that I was going to be an actor when I grew up. My family owned and operated assisted living facilities my whole life… [ Thats a weird place for some one to cultivate creativity I know ] My Mom has always ran business with seniors… and as I grew up I helped her in the business. I was a caregiver for a number of years. I interviewed employees, managed, did tours. After many years of helping my Mom, she realized that I wasnt doing what I wanted to do. She wanted me to strike out on my own. Now that the business was successful… it was ok that I tried out some new stuff. So I went into telemarketing [ with my good looks and overly charming personality ] I had a good time but it wasnt what I loved. When I was 16 my sister took me to the San Diego Film Festival. It was then that I realized that instead of being an actor, I wanted to produce and direct. The reasoning was that I would rather not go to cattle calls, or wait to be discovered when I could take controle of my destiny by just being the one that came up with the film ideas and put myself in it if I so chose.

My first camera was a Sony Handy Cam, I shot short films with my friends, grandpa, by myself… I edited on a VCR [ consumer computers weren't strong enough at the time ]  and as soon as I could buy my first editing machine… I did. I continued to find other jobs while teaching myself my new hobby. I took various sales jobs, but nothing I really loved doing so it didn’t stick. Then my ex Girlfriends Mom who was in real-estate said “you should be a loan broker… they make huge huge checks” well, that was the case back in the day. So I jumped in… but the market starting coming down… and 8 months later I was looking for a new job again. Mean while I was still making short films, building DVD Menus, and creating motion graphics. One day my uncle called me up, and asked me about some editing programs he had scene how cool the stuff I was doing and realized it was much better than most professional stuff he had been having done for his business. He promptly offered me a job, and I stayed picking up random video production jobs, graphics jobs, and anything media. Some times the work was fun and awesome other times clients were difficult dead lines were tough, and their were more than a few late nights, but I stuck with it.

after about four and a half years of being with CD’s Direct, I left my cozy studio bay to start my own company.This was just as the market started to turn down. Venturing out on my own, and starting my own business was vary different from getting spoon fed clients, and getting your regular repeat customers. However my family was behind me and I had confidence that even in a down market I would succeed after all I had come this far… I wasnt about to stop now.

AJ and I started building the studio… and after many many months of hard labor… and money spent. I had a place of my own to do editing, compositing, shoot HDV footage, and stand on my own. It was at that point that I realized that… guess what. Video Production editing is phasing out, I realized I needed more to offer clients than simple video production. So I turned to web design and S.E.O. and the next year I took to learn and grow from just video production to MASS MEDIA MARKETING.
